Maryland

In the spring of 2010, the Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation created a partnership between the Maryland Office of the Attorney General, and the Governor’s Office of Crime Control & Prevention to launch a statewide Badges for Baseball program. Working closely with the Office of Attorney General Doug Gansler, nine counties are running the program, eight of which are being led by the local Sheriff’s Office. Approximately 1,000 children across the state will benefit from the program. All of the communities receive new baseball and/or softball equipment, Quickball sets, the Healthy Choices, Healthy Children curriculum, and opportunities for their children to participate in a youth baseball clinic and our weeklong summer camp in Aberdeen, Maryland. The program is off to a great start!
